About Fish Publishing http://www.fishpublishing.com
Fish Publishing is an independent publishing company based in the West of Ireland. It has been running writing contests since 1994. It is the aim of Fish Publishing to encourage and promote new writers. The annual Fish International Short Story Prize has become an established event on the literary calendar, and we are pleased to record that many authors published in the Fish Anthology have consequently achieved further publication and gone on to have flourishing writing careers. See Alumni Page.
We are delighted that for many years, Roddy Doyle, Dermot Healy and Frank McCourt have been honorary patrons of the Fish Short Story Prize
Fish Publishing run two other competitions, The Fish One-Page Prize and The Fish Poetry Prize. Winners of all three annual competitions will also be published in the Fish Anthology during the West Cork Literary Festival in Bantry, West Cork, Ireland.
Many acclaimed writters have genourously given their time to act as judges for the Fish literary prizes, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for the time, effort and continued support they have given to Fish.
Comments from some of these writers about writing can be read on our Writing Short Stories page
Managed by Clem Cairns and Jula Walton, Fish Publishing's activities have also included the publication of Altergeist, a novel by Tim Booth, Small City Blues # 1-57 by Martin Kelleher, and The Woman Who Swallowed the Book of Kells - a collection of short stories by Ian Wild.
